About the Memorial Foundation
The Andrew James Cherpak III Memorial Foundation, Inc. was established in 2010 to keep Andrew's legacy of helping others, pursuance of advanced education in the field of law, and amazing spirit alive by granting scholarships and sponsorships to those in need. Despite numerous challenges in Andrew's life, he repeatedly maintained an extraordinarily positive attitude and never stopped grasping for the stars.
Christmas was one of Andrew's favorite holidays, and he was continually concerned for children who were less fortunate than he and might not have any gift to unwrap on Christmas morning. Furthermore, Andrew was well aware of how the new school year places extra financial strain on certain families. As a little boy, purchasing a new pair of sneakers was not an option. Additionally, Andrew believed in the importance of literacy and education for all children. According to Andrew, being literate left all possibilities open for exploration.
Because of all the paths Andrew had to walk, obstacles he had to overcome, and freely giving heart, the Andrew James Cherpak III Memorial Foundation, Inc. grants awards in these five areas:
